Big Fellow Rubbed

Too Much Rain

"Tree Lounge"  This little fellow decided to rest in a very difficult  spot for me to be able to photograph him.  I had to do a lot of moving around  to get even this small area to shoot through.  Meanwhile mother bear was  sitting under another tree which had a second cub well hidden.  There  is something really cute about bear cubs.   Photographed on Haida Gwaii,  BC, Canada.

Big Fellow Rubbed

"Big Fellow, Rubbed"  This is the first bear I have found this spring  that has quite a bit of rubbing.  I have seen some bears standing and  rubbing their backs on trees but none to the degree this fellow has.   Once they rub off their winter fur, they will look a lot better!  Also  not his forehead.  Spring is the time the boars, especially larger  males, begin marking their territories getting ready for the June mating  season.  Photographed on Haida Gwaii, BC,  Canada.
