A recent trip to the east of Edmonton took me to the bird migration areas. I saw many swans and other waterfowl.

This snow goose is one of thousands to migrate through Alberta. Some fly from California and go all the way to Wrangle Island in Russia.

There were hundreds of sandhill cranes feeding, preparing to continue to their nesting grounds. Many go as far as the Arctic and Alaska.
